Elephants are often considered calm and gentle creatures. However, female elephants when protecting their young can become extremely aggressive, causing many animals to stay away.
Crocodiles are opportunistic predators and sometimes attack baby elephants. In the video, the lactating mother elephant seems very upset with the crocodile being near her baby. To protect the young, it eliminates the danger thoroughly.
Accordingly, the mother elephant approached the crocodile, pushing the predator with her head and trunk. After that, it began to step on the animal, even wrapping its trunk around the crocodile’s tail and throwing it.
Continuously being trampled by a female elephant weighing several tons caused the crocodile to suffer a heavy blow and could not escape and it died soon after.
